Utah remains undefeated against the Big East, raising its record to 9-0. Utah is 3-0 all-time against Pitt.

John White had his third career 100-yard rushing game, picking up 171 yards on a career-high 36 carries. White's 36 carries are the most in a game since Matt Asiata had 36 carries against Utah State in 2009.

Jon Hays earned his first victory as Utah's starting quarterback (1-1). He went 14-for-23 for 127 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions.

Dres Anderson led Utah in receiving with 43 yards on four catches. Nine different receivers caught passes for the Utes.

Luke Matthews scored his first touchdown of the season on a 33-yard catch from Jon Hays. He has four career touchdowns.

Coleman Petersen converted 4-of-4 field goals, including a career-long 45-yard field goal in the fourth quarter (other lengths were 23, 34 and 39 yards). The four field goals is tied for the second-most in school history. It was his first field goal attempts since the BYU game.

Pitt was held to just 50 yards passing and 70 yards rushing. The Panthers had just nine completed passes.

Derrick Shelby led Utah with seven tackles. He had 2.5 TFL (1.5 sacks), two pass breakups, and his first career interception in the fourth quarter, returning the ball 21 yards for a touchdown. He has two touchdowns this season (fumble recovery vs. BYU).

Pitt running back Ray Graham was held to 46 yards, his lowest output of the season and just the second time this year he has been held under 100 yards. Graham entered the game averaging 149.8 yards per game (second in the NCAA).

Conroy Black made his first career interception in the fourth quarter, with a 34-yard return.

Pitt returned a kickoff for a touchdown in the first quarter. The last time Utah allowed a kickoff return for a touchdown as against North Carolina in 2005.

Pitt returned a blocked punt for a touchdown in the first quarter. The last time Utah allowed a blocked punt for a touchdown was against Notre Dame in 2010.

Mo Lee made his first start of the season.

Players who did not make the trip include DeVonte Christopher (ankle), Keith McGill (shoulder) and Michael Walker (illness). Dallin Rogers left the game in the first half with a knee injury.
