Freshman quarterback Jordan Wynn made his first appearance of the season on Utah's first offensive drive of the second half. He completed his first four passes for 29 yards and finished 9-of-14 for 82 yards and one touchdown.
Wynn threw his first career touchdown pass in the fourth quarter, a 22-yard strike to Jereme Brooks. It was Brooks' fourth touchdown catch of the season.
Quarterback Terrance Cain was 10-for-13 with 121 yards passing. He played in the first half.
Eddie Wide rushed for a career-high 135 yards on 24 carries for his fifth-straight 100-yard rushing game. He is the fourth Ute to rush for over 100 yards in five straight games, tying the school record. The other three players were Carl Monroe (1982), Mike Anderson (1998) and Darrell Mack (2007).
Wide scored Utah's second touchdown of the game to extend the Utes' lead to 22-10. It was his fifth rushing touchdown of the year and his sixth overall. He has now found the end zone at least once in four straight games.
The Utes threw to eight receivers, tying a season high. They also threw to eight receivers during the Louisville game.
Former quarterback DeVonte Christopher lined up several times for a direct snap. He had 59 yards of total offense for Utah - 18 rushing, 34 on kickoff returns and seven on punt returns. He was also 1-for-1 for eight yards on a pass play in the direct snap formation.
Kendrick Moeai had his first career catch in the first quarter, a 22-yard grab.
Joe Phillips accounted for all of Utah's scoring through the third quarter, making field goals of 43 yards, 26 yards and 38 yards. He had his first miss of the season from 43 yards on his first attempt of the game and finished the day 3-for-4.
Wyoming was held to 51 net yards rushing in the contest. The Cowboys totaled just seven rushing yards in the second quarter and one rushing yard in the third quarter.
Wyoming had just 21 net yards of offense in the third quarter.
R.J. Stanford made his first career interception in the fourth quarter. He also had two pass breakups.
Koa Misi led Utah with eight tackles. He also had a team-high two sacks for nine yards.
Justin Taplin-Ross had a career-high six tackles.
