Utah raises its record to 5-4, 2-4 in the Pac-12.
John White became the 11th Utah player to gain 1,000 yards in a season with a 109-yard night (27 carries). He is the fourth first-year Ute to reach the milestone, joining Eddie Johnson (1984), Keith Williams (1991) and Mike Anderson (1998).
John White had his fifth 100-yard rushing game of the season. Utah is 5-0 when White has at least 100 yards rushing.
John White scored two touchdowns to add to his team-leading total, giving him 11 touchdowns for the season. He had an 18-yard rush for a touchdown in the second quarter, and an 11-yard TD run in the fourth quarter.
Jon Hays tied his career-high with 199 yards passing (12-for-21). Hays also threw for 199 yards against Arizona State. Hays threw two touchdown passes, including a career-long 65-yard TD toss.
DeVonte Christopher led Utah with 79 yards receiving on three catches. He scored a touchdown on a 65-yard reception, his fourth TD catch of the year.
Reggie Dunn scored his first touchdown of the season in the third quarter on a 44-yard reception. Dunn had three catches for 64 yards.
Coleman Petersen went 2-of-4 in field goals, making field goals of 33 and 35 yards and missing from 42 and 46. His first miss of the game snapped a streak of 10-straight made field goals.
Sean Sellwood tied his career long with a 67-yard punt in the first quarter. Sellwood, who had four punts, had two punts of 50-plus yards and dropped two inside the 20-yard line.
Matt Martinez had his second interception of the season in the second quarter. He has had interceptions in back-to-back games.
Matt Martinez led the Utes with eight tackles.
Conroy Black had his second interception of the season in the fourth quarter, making a pick in the end zone to prevent a UA touchdown. He had a 57-yard return on the play.
Utah won the turnover battle, 3-0 (two interceptions, one fumble recovery).
Arizona went 0-for-2 in the red zone.
Utah is 2-1 in homecoming games this year - losing to Washington in Salt Lake City on Oct. 1 and spoiling Pittsburgh's (Oct. 15) and Arizona's homecomings.
Kyle Whittingham is 3-0 against Arizona as Utah's head coach, which included wins in 2004 (23-6) and 2005 (27-24).
