With the 38-7 win, Utah earned its second-straight undefeated season at Rice-Eccles Stadium. It is the school's first set of back-to-back unbeaten home seasons since 1947-48. The Utes have won 17 straight at home, the second-longest streak in Utah history. The school record is 26 from Nov. 19, 1928 to Oct. 13, 1934. There have been eight nine-win seasons in school history, including the last three seasons.
Utah scored its 38 points in the first half, its most in a first half this season. The Ute offense scored touchdowns on four of its first five possessions.
Utah is 11-of-11 in the red zone in its last three games. The Utes scored 10 touchdowns in those trips, including a stretch of nine in a row.
Eddie Wide rushed for 84 yards on 16 attempts with two touchdowns. Wide has scored 12 touchdowns this season (11 rushing and one receiving). With 918 rushing yards this season, Wide is 82 yards from becoming the 11th 1,000-yard rusher in school history.

Jordan Wynn was 14-of-28 for 195 yards with one touchdown pass. Wynn was 3-for-4 for 95 yards in the first quarter.
After taking a direct snap, Shaky Smithson scored his third touchdown this season on a 4-yard rush. Smithson rushed nine times for 34 yards.
Jereme Brooks caught a 24-yard touchdown pass from Wynn for his sixth touchdown catch this season and the 13th of his career. Brooks led Utah with seven catches for 100 yards and one touchdown, the second time in his career he has reached the 100-yard mark in a game.
Joe Dale returned his first interception this season 30 yards for his first career touchdown. It was Utah's second interception return for a score in 2009.
Joe Phillips hit a 47-yard field goal as time expired in the first half. Phillips was also 5-for-5 on PAT's.
The Utah defense held San Diego State to two net yards of total offense in the second quarter.
Lamar Chapman intercepted his second pass of the season and returned it three yards in San Diego State's first drive of the game.
Shaky Smithson returned punts for the first time this season. Smithson had five returns for 54 yards, including a long of 20 yards.
Attendance today was 44,991, which brings the season average to 45,155, the second-highest single-season average in school history.
