SALT LAKE CITY--

SPRING CAMP WEEK 2

Practices No. 4, 5 and 6 will be held on Tuesday (3-5 p.m.), Thursday (3-5 p.m.) and Friday (4-6 p.m.) of this week. Media may attend the entire practice and televisions may shoot the last 20 minutes. Outdoor practices are open to the public.

SCRIMMAGES/SPRING GAME

The Utes will hold scrimmages on Saturday, April 7 (10 a.m.) and Saturday, April 14 (10 a.m.). The Red-White spring game is Saturday, April 21 at 1 p.m.

DEMO DAY

Demolition of the Dee Glen Smith Athletics Center will begin on Tuesday, Mar. 27. At 11 a.m., coach Kyle Whittingham will make the first hit, driving heavy equipment into the east facility wall. The old football center will be replaced by a $30 million football facility, which is scheduled to open in time for the 2013 season. The football coaches' offices and all football operations have moved into temporary quarters adjacent to the construction site. The Utes will also gain new practice fields when the project is completed and will practice in Rice-Eccles Stadium and the Spence Eccles Field House until then.

CAMP NOTES

Injuries continue to impact the tight end position where starter David Rolf (calf) has joined seniors Kendrick Moeai (shoulder) and Dallin Rogers (knee) on the disabled list. Rolf is expected to miss a week or two, while Moeai and Rogers are out for the entire spring. Sophomore Jake Murphy moves up to No. 1 and Westlee Tonga is temporarily No. 2. Tonga will move back to his new position at defensive end once Rolf returns ... A spirited battle is being waged for backup posts at cornerback where converted safety Keith McGill and redshirt freshman Tyler White have pushed their way into the three-deep at left and right corner, respectively. At nickel, Lewis Walker and Joseph Smith look good behind starter Reggie Topps ... Jared Norris has moved from middle to rover linebacker where he is the co-starter this week with Dave Fagergren and Victor Spikes.
