SPRING CAMP WEEK 5

Utah's 2013 spring camp winds to a close this week with practices on Tuesday (3-5 p.m.) and Thursday (3-5 p.m.), and the 10th-annual Red-White Spring Game on Saturday at 1 p.m. The Red-White Spring Game on April 20 is free, as are several events leading up to it. A schedule follows:

RED-WHITE SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

6 a.m. Utah Football Ultimate Tailgate Championship: Pre-registrants have completely filled this popular event but fans are invited to walk through the tailgate (in the west lot of Rice-Eccles Stadium) and join in the festivities.

9:00 a.m. Live D.J.

10 a.m. Ultimate Tailgate Food Competition: Watch a panel of celebrity judges rate the food.

11 a.m. MUSS Flag Football Game

Noon: Utah Alumni Flag Football Game

1:00 p.m. Red-White Spring Game: Open seating. Game will be televised live on the Pac-12 Networks.

RED-WHITE INSIGHT

The head coaches for Saturday's Red-White game will be safeties coach Morgan Scalley (Red) and tight ends coach/special teams coordinator Jay Hill (White) ... The game will feature 10-minute quarters with a normal clock in the first half and a running clock in the second half. Halftime will last eight minutes ... Each team will be allowed two timeouts per half ... There will not be any punt or kickoff returns. Kickoffs will be placed at the 35-yard line and punts will be marked at the spot of the fair catch ... After a score of any type, if the scoring team is behind by more than 10 points, it will retain possession of the ball ... While there will be no limitations on what the offense can run, the defense is limited to playing "base defense."

GIVE ME A BREAK

There will be several presentations during the quarter and halftime breaks, including the presentation of the 2012-13 Deseret First Duel All-Sports Trophy. Utah holds a 25-19 lead with six points still up for grabs in baseball and softball, which means the worst the Utes can do is tie for the rivalry trophy. The Utah women's basketball team will be honored for its runner-up finish in the Women's N.I.T. The winners of the 2013 Ultimate Tailgate Championship and Food Competition will recognized and the volleyball team take the field during an announcement of its move to the Huntsman Center next fall.
