CollegeFootballNews.com has targeted Utah defensive tackle Star Lotulelei as the top NFL prospect for 2013 going into the college football season. Lotulelei was first-team All-Pac-12 a year ago and won the Morris Award as the league's best defensive lineman as voted on by the Pac-12 offensive linemen.

One major area for which the Utes are seeking funding through the Invest in Utah Athletics Campaign is facilities and the No. 1 priority is the $30 million Utah football facility currently under construction. The Utes will also gain new practice fields when the project is completed in time for the 2013 season.
More Utes are headed to the NFL, highlighted by offensive lineman Tony Bergstrom, who was drafted in the third round by the Oakland Raiders with the 95th overall pick. Several other Utes have signed free agent contracts and more are expected to sign in the coming weeks. Free agents to date are: defensive lineman Tevita Finau (Arizona), defensive back Conroy Black (Oakland), defensive end Derrick Shelby (Miami), fullback Shawn Asiata (Miami) and offensive tackle John Cullen (New York Jets).
