SAFETIES

The Lowdown
Safety looks solid, where coach Morgan Scalley has two all-conference candidates and a heralded newcomer.

Headliners Returning
Utah has one of the best safety tandems in the country returning in seniors Eric Rowe at free safety and Brian Blechen at strong safety. Both are four-year starters and former Freshman All-Americans.

Newcomer Spotlight
If big, fast junior college transfer Tevin Carter is as good as advertised, it will allow Rowe to spend more time at corner.

Coach Whittingham Says
"Getting Brian Blechen back from injury is a positive and returning starter Eric Rowe is expected to split time as both a safety and a corner. The addition of Tevin Carter brings another element of size and speed to the position."
