Sean Sellwood became the fourth Ute named to a major preseason watch list today when the Augusta Sports Council announced him as one of 25 preseason candidates for the Ray Guy Award, which goes to the NCAA's top punter. Sellwood has been Utah's starting punter since 2009 when he was a Freshman All-American by Rivals.com and Phil Steele.

Sellwood ranks in the top five in school history in career 50-yard punts (36), total punts (152) and punt yards (6,562).

Sellwood joins defensive tackle Star Lotulelei, running back John White and center Tevita Stevens on major preseason watch lists.

White is being considered for the Maxwell Award, given to the outstanding collegiate football player. Lotulelei is a preseason candidate for the Bednarik Award, presented to the NCAA's top defensive player. Stevens is a nominee for the Rimington Trophy for outstanding center.

Lotulelei was also named a preseason first-team All-American by Phil Steele and Blue Ribbon Football Yearbook and is Blue Ribbon's preseason Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year. Lotulelei and White are preseason first-team all-Pac-12 picks by both Phil Steele and Blue Ribbon.
