Week two of Utah's football camp will be a busy one with two scrimmages, seven practices and the official opening of the new football facility. Along with double-day practices on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, the Utes will hold scrimmages on Tuesday and Saturday mornings. On Thursday, school officials and invited donors will dedicate the new football facility. See sidebar on this page for this week's practice times and media access. Practices and scrimmages are closed to the public. No live reports of any kind are permitted from practice or scrimmages.

Medical issues have derailed the college careers of freshman defensive end Tevita Bloomfield, redshirt freshman defensive end Moses Folauhola and sophomore linebacker Reshawn Hooker. Hooker played in three games last season, starting in two, as a true freshman ... Freshman linebacker/defensive end Pita Taumoepenu and freshman linebacker Alex Whittingham were added to the fall camp roster last weekend. Whittingham is the son of head coach Kyle Whittingham ... It is anticipated that freshman offensive tackle Salesi Uhatafe will join the team early this week.

Redshirt freshman Isaac Asiata makes his first appearance in the two deep at right guard behind Junior Salt. Derek Tuimauga moves over to left guard, where he will back up Jeremiah Tofaeono ... Senior Latu Heimuli's transition from offensive to defensive tackle is going well and he is now one of three "co-starters" with LT Tuipulotu and Stevie Tu'ikolovatu at one tackle position ... Jacoby Hale replaces injured Reshawn Hooker as the backup to Brian Blechen at stud linebacker ... Five corners are vying for the two starting jobs: Justin Thomas, Reginald Porter and Keith McGill at one corner, and Wykie Freeman and Davion Orphey at the other. Another in the mix is true freshman Hipolito Corporan ... Thomas is also the co-starter at nickel back with Michael Walker ... Travis Still has moved into the No. 3 spot at rover linebacker behind Jared Norris and true freshman Uaea Masina.
