WALNUT CREEK, Calif.--Utah punter Tom Hackett has been named the special teams Pac-12 Player of the Week in football.

Hackett pinned No. 25 BYU inside the Cougars 10-yard line three times during Utah's 24-21 win.

Hackett, who averaged 35.7 yards a punt, pinned BYU at its own 5-yard line, and twice on its 8-yard line. His last punt came with 1:11 remaining in the fourth quarter when his 30-yard punt was downed at the Cougar 8-yard line.

Hackett is a freshman from Melbourne, Australia, and is playing football for the first time in America.

The Utes (2-1) take on Arizona State on Saturday, Sept. 22, in their first Pac-12 game of the year.
