Football Signs Midyear JC Transfer Kaelin Clay

SALT LAKE CITY-- - Kaelin Clay, a wide receiver out of Mt. San Antonio College, signed a National Letter of Intent today with Utah on the first day of the midyear JC transfer signing period that runs through January 15.

Clay, a 2013 first-team all-conference receiver and preseason JUCO All-American for Mt. San Antonio College, led the SCFA Central Conference in receiving yards (995), yards per game (90.5) and touchdowns (16), while finishing second in receptions (52) and yards per catch (19.1). He led Mt. SAC in both 2012 and 2013 in receptions, receiving yards, touchdown catches, kick returns, all-purpose yards and scoring, catching 90 passes in his JC career for 1,654 yards and 24 touchdowns.

The 5'10", 188-pounder initially signed with Cal in 2009 out of Long Beach Poly HS as Rivals.com's No. 53 wide receiver nationally and 79th player overall in California. He was a SuperPrep All-American and All-Moore League as a senior at Long Beach Poly before redshirting at Cal in 2010, when he was named co-scout team player of the year on special teams. He sat out the 2011 season with an injury. Clay has one season of NCAA eligibility remaining.
