Former Ute Ashdon Woods is in his third season as an assistant coach with the Utah golf team.

Woods, a native of Lander, Wyo., played for the Utes for four years. He was an integral part of the team's success from 2001-2005.

During his senior season, Woods led the Utes six times, including a top-10 finish at the Ron Moore Invitational. In 2003-04, Woods was the top Ute at the MWC Tournament. He also won the Wyoming Amateur title in 2004.

In 2002-03, Woods won his first Wyoming Amateur championship. He played four tournaments for Utah later that fall and spring. Woods was the Wyoming high school individual champion in 1999 and 2001. He earned all-state honors from 1999-2001 for Lander High School.

Woods is finishing up work on his bachelor's degree in exercise and sports science.
