ERIE, Colo. - The University of Utah golf team posted a final score of 883 (287-299-297) at the third annual Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational, finishing 14th. Redshirt junior Casey Halliday shot a career-low score of 70 in the final round and led the team with a total of 216 (71-75-70), finishing 27th.

"We've got to keep working at it," said head coach Randall McCracken. "You can't have your first player in 27th place and expect to be competitive. We'll rotate in a few new guys, and hopefully get something figured out so we can produce better results."

Junior Daniel Engle tied for 43rd, posting a score of 220 (71-76-73). Sophomore Gentry Hicks shot 222 (71-74-77), tying for 52nd. Junior Ben Bankhead finished with a final score of 226 (74-75-77), tying for 67th. Bankhead provided one of the highlights of the tournament with a hole-in-one on the first round on Monday. Sophomore Brandon Kida tied for 72nd with a score of 228 (76-75-77).

The Utes make a quick turnaround and return to action September 28-29 at the William H. Tucker Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M.
