SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah golf team prepares for the 2014 Lamkin San Diego Classic, co-hosted by San Diego and San Diego State and held Monday and Tuesday at the San Diego Country Club. Live scoring will be available at golfstat.com.
The tournament is being held at the par-72, 7,033-yard San Diego Country Club.
Rounds 1 and 2 will begin with an 8 a.m. PT shotgun start Monday. The final round will begin Tuesday from 7:30-9:30 a.m. PT from tees one and 10.
The Utes will be competing against 12 teams, including Pac-12 opponents Oregon State and USC, as well as CSU-San Marcos, Michigan, Notre Dame, Pepperdine, Saint Joseph's, hosts San Diego and San Diego State, Seattle, UC Irvine, and Wake Forrest.
Last Time at the Lamkin San Diego Classic
The Utes posted their lowest round of last spring, a six-over 294, during the final round of the tournament. A team score of 903 (308-301-294) earned Utah 12th place. Daniel Engle lead the Utes in the standings, securing his best finish of the season as he tied for 12th with a six-over mark of 222(75-72-75).
Last Time Out
Utah wrapped up their spring opener at the Snowman Invitational last week, where a nine-over-par 873 (294-294-285) tied them for 11th. Utes Engle and Jonathon Thomas both tied for 27th with one-under 215s.
