SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah golf team heads to Scottsdale, Ariz., for the Wyoming Cowboy Classic at the Talking Stick Golf Club Monday and Tuesday. Live scoring for the tournament will be available at golfstat.com.
The Wyoming Cowboy Classic will be held on Talking Stick's par-70, 7,133-yard North Course.
Both day of the tournament will begin with a 7:30 a.m. PT shotgun start. The field will play two rounds of 18 holes on Monday and one the final round of 18 holes on Tuesday.
The Utes will be competing against 19 other teams including Pac-12 rival Colorado, as well as host Wyoming, BYU, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, Gonzaga, Idaho, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Old Dominion, Santa Clara, Southern Utah, Utah State, UTEP, UT Pan American, UTSA, and Weber State.
Last Time at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic
Daniel Engle and Brandon Kida each shot a one-under 69 in the final round of the tournament, Engle tied for second place while Kida tied for 25th. Although, the event was shortened due to weather, Utah posted a 588 (308-280) to place seventh.
Last Time Out
Utah returns to action at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic after last appearing in Creswell, Ore., at the Duck Invitational. The squad placed 10th in a field of 16 teams with a three-round score of 903 (295-301-307). Sophomore Jonathon Thomas led the Utes through both days of play and finished the tournament with a five-over 221 (73-73-75).
