SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah golf team will begin their 2012-13 season at the 44th annual Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational, Sept. 9-10. The tournament will be played on the 7,363-yard, par-72 Blue Course at the Eisenhower Golf Club in Colorado Springs, Colo.
The 54-hole tournament will begin Sunday with an 8:15 a.m. shotgun start and two rounds will be played that day. The final round will begin Monday at 8:15 a.m.
The Utes will take on 14 other teams at the event, including fellow Pac-12 Conference squad and winner of last year's tournament, Colorado. Other teams competing at the event will be host school Air Force, and 2011 NCAA Tournament competitor, Colorado State.
Last Time at the Falcon Invitational
The Utes finished 13th at the 2011 Invitational with a team score of 886 (293-300-293). Jack Maerki, then a freshman playing in just his second collegiate event, led the team with a mark of 214 (73-72-69) to tie for 13th.
