Chase Hite and the Utes begin their second tournament of the fall season Monday at the Ron Moore Invite.

The University of Utah golf team heads to Denver, Colo., for its second tournament of the fall season. The Utes will be playing in the 2008 Ron Moore Invitational on Monday and Tuesday. The event will be hosted by the University of Denver. The tournament will be held at the Green Valley Ranch Golf Club, a par-72 course. The field will start the event Monday by playing 36 holes and finish up Tuesday with 18 holes, both days begin at 8 a.m.
Seventeen teams will be joining the Utes at the Ron Moore Invitational, including: Denver, Colorado, Air Force, Wyoming, UC Riverside, UTEP, Campbell, Northern Colorado, Loyola (Md.), Utah State, Cal State Northridge, Boise State, New Mexico State, Central Arkansas, Utah Valley, Weber State.
The Last Time:
Last year at the Ron Moore Invitational, the Utes placed third out of sixteen teams, finishing behind Kansas State and Ohio State who were in first and second place, respectively.
Utah placed 14th in the overall team standings of the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational Sept. 6-7 on the blue course of the Eisenhower Golf Club in Colorado Springs, Colo. The Utes totaled 907 strokes in the final standings, adding a score of 313 on the second day to their first-day total of 594 on the par-72, 7,301-yard course.
Leading the Utes was freshman Joe Webber, who tied for 45th in the individual final standings. Webber shot a 78 in the final round and combined with Saturday's total of 146 for a final total of eight-over-par 224. Sophomore Chase Hite tied for 49th with a final score of 225, a nine-over-par total.
The Utes travel to Albuquerque, N.M. for the University of New Mexico's William H. Tucker Invitational, Sept. 26-27.
