SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah golf team travels to Princeville, Kaua'i this weekend for the 2013 Hawaii Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational, Monday through Wednesday. This will be Utah's inaugural appearance at the tournament. Live stats for the tournament will be available at golfstat.com.
The tournament will be held at a par-72 7,223-yard course at the Princeville Makai Golf Club at the St. Regis Princeville Resort.
The tournament will begin at 7:30 a.m. HST both Monday and Tuesday for the first and second rounds, respectively. The final round begins Wednesday with an 8 am. HST shotgun start.
Utah will compete against 16 other teams, including Pac-12 opponent Arizona State, Baylor, Boise State, Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton, East Tennessee State, host Hawai'i, Idaho Louisville, Middle Tennessee State, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Pepperdine, San Diego, San Francisco, and UC Santa Barbara.

The Utes placed 15th after posting a 900 (304-300-296) at the UTEP Price's Give `Em Five Invitational last weekend in El Paso, Texas, at the Butterfield Trails Golf Club. Senior Daniel Engle was Utah's top finisher, tying for 34th with a four-over-par 220 (7-70-73).
Sophomore Jonathon Thomas tied for 40th after swinging a five-over 221 (74-75-72), while senior Casey Halliday tied for 55th with a mark of 224 (74-77-73). Senior Ben Bankhead and Steven Croft rounded out the Ute roster, placing 87th and 88th respectively. Bankhead scored a 239 (79-78-82) and Croft posted a 240 (79-83-78). Sophomore Brent Pollock, who competed as an individual, tied for 83rd with a score of 236 (79-80-77).
