Hamza netted a three-set thriller at the No. 3 position to upset 13th-ranked Daniel Nguyen, while Davidian managed an upset over No. 38 Yannick Hanfmann at the No. 4 spot.

"We played the No. 1 team in the country, which is a great learning experience for our young group of guys," said head coach F.D. Robbins. "The guys fought hard, competed, and earned two singles wins against ranked opponents. We are looking forward to our match against No. 5 UCLA on Sunday at Liberty Park."

The Trojans came out strong in doubles play, quickly earning an 8-3 victory at the No. 3 slot as Hamza and sophomore Devin Lane fell to Emilio Gomez and Hanfmann.
