SALT LAKE CITY - Utah men's tennis players Ben Tasevac and Dmytro Mamedov have been named ITA Scholar Athletes for their accomplishments in the classroom during the 2012-2013 school year.

In order to earn ITA Scholar Ahtlete status a player must be a varsity letter winner, have a GPA of 3.5 or better for the current academic year and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.

For Mamedov, it is familiar territory as he has now earned this honor two years in a row. The Ukrainian native earned a GPA of 3.625 majoring in parks, recreation and tourism. Mamedov is set to graduate in December 2013.

Tasevac is originally from Bosnia but attended Skyline High School. He garnered his first ITA Scholar-Athlete award after earning a team high 3.74 GPA while majoring in exercise and sports science. Tasevac is Utah's first student-athlete to take home both MVP and Most Academic awards in the same season.
