Utah led 12-8 before an 11-1 Bruin run gave the visitors the lead for the first time at 19-13. A Plouffe breakaway lay-in followed by Wilson's second 3-pointer of the contest cut Utah's deficit to one, 19-18. Unfortunately, UCLA scored four straight to grab their largest lead of the game at 23-18. The Utes stormed back with a 9-2 spurt, capped by a Plouffe 3-pointer and jumper, to tie the game for the second time at 25 points apiece. Plouffe then buried a jump shot as time expired in the half to give Utah a 27-25 heading into the locker room. The Utes were 4-of-11 from 3-point range, while the Bruins did not make a long-range attempt. Plouffe knocked down five of her 10 shots in the first 20 minutes for 12, while Potter grabbed four rebounds.

A 6-0 Ute run to start the second half pushed Utah's lead to seven, 32-25. UCLA countered with a 10-1 run to take a 35-33 advantage. A Potter 15-foot jumper tied the game for the third time at 35-35. There would be one more tie (43-43), but UCLA then took seven consecutive scores (50-43). Utah answered with a pair of Plouffe free throws and a Potter jumper (50-47), but could get no closer than three points the rest of the way as UCLA came away with the 62-52 victory.

UCLA (13-17, 7-13 Pac-12) was led by a 17-point, four-assist performance by Nirra Fields.
