SALT LAKE CITY - A strong second-half rally, led by five players in double figures, lifted the Utah women's basketball team to a 64-52 win over Colorado State to close out the regular season.
The Utes finish the season tied for third in the Mountain West Conference (10-6).
Down by four points, 32-28, the Utes reeled off a 14-0 run over the next five and a half minutes to put the lead into double digits. Utah would continue to pull away, holding a 19-point lead with four minutes left, 61-42.
Colorado State led 30-25 at halftime. The score was tied five times in the first half.
Jantia Badon led Utah with 13 points while Kalee Whipple and Taryn Wicijowski each scored 12 points. Halie Sawyer just missed a double-double with 10 points and a team-high nine rebounds. Iwalani Rodrigues tied her career high with 10 points.
Utah's three seniors - Whipple, Sawyer and Sasha McKinnon - were honored in a pregame ceremony.
Utah will enter the MWC Tournament as the No. 4 seed. The Utes will play ninth-seeded Air Force on Tuesday, March 9, at 2:05 p.m. (PT).
