SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah women's basketball scored a season-high 91 points as the Utes defeated NAIA Southern Oregon, 91-36, on Monday evening.
Michelle Plouffe had her fourth double-double of the year with career highs in both points (23) and rebounds (14). Janita Badon hit the 20-point mark for the second time in her career, scoring 22. Iwalani Rodrigues scored 11 with seven rebounds
Utah wasted no time taking control, taking a seven-point lead through the first five minutes. Up by eight with 11 minutes remaining, 21-13, Utah surged ahead with a 14-2 run over the next three minutes to go up by 20, 35-15. The Utes led 40-23 at halftime.
Southern Oregon was held to just 13 points in the second half while the Utes tallied 51.
The Raiders were led by eight points from Alexi Smith.
Utah has a quick turnaround, traveling to face New Mexico State on Wednesday, Dec. 22. Tip time is at 7:00 p.m. MT.
