PROVO, Utah (AP) - Kari Gallup scored 16 points, including four crucial free throws in the last 45 seconds, to lift Brigham Young to a 70-64 win against No. 17 Utah on Wednesday night. Julie Krommenhoek scored 16 of her 20 points in the second half to lead Utah (16-3, 7-3 Western Athletic Conference).
BYU led 58-45 with 7:19 left before Utah made a run. Angie Thill's three-point play brought the Utes within 65-61 with 53 seconds remaining. Gallup then made four straight free throws, around a 3-pointer by Utah's Alli Bills, to give BYU (9-11, 4-6) a 69-64 advantage. Angela Burgess and Lori Henry each had 12 points for BYU, which shot 57 percent in the second half.
Thill finished with 19 points and 14 rebounds for Utah and Bills added 12 points.
