The University of Utah women's basketball team concludes a three-game road trip at Oregon State on Monday, Feb. 10 at 6 p.m. PT. The action from Corvallis, Ore., will be televised live on Pac-12 Networks.
Utah is 10-12 overall through 22 games and the Utes are 3-8 in league play. After a 93-71 setback on Feb. 8 at Oregon, Utah holds a 3-6 mark in true road contests.
Oregon State is 14-9 overall and 6-5 in league play. The Beavers have won four of their last five, most recently taking a 75-63 win over Colorado on Feb. 8 in Corvallis. The Beavers are 9-1 in Gill Coliseum this season with their only loss to No. 2 Notre Dame on Dec. 29 (70-58).
Marvelous Malia: Freshman guard Malia Nawahine (Springville, Utah) scored a career-high 19 points after making four of her six 3-pointers and was 7-of-12 overall against the Ducks. Nawahine has reached double-digits four times this season.
Wilson From 3: Junior guard Cheyenne Wilson (Seattle, Wash.) turned in a career-high 16 points on Feb. 8 at Oregon off a 6-for-11 shooting performance, including a 2-for-4 effort from distance. She has been in double-figures six times this season and she also dished out three assists and chased down three rebounds. Wilson registered 20 points in the two games last week against Colorado. She shot for a team-high percentage of .467 (7-15) from the floor and was also .500 (4-8) from 3-point territory. Wilson also collected 3.5 rebounds per contest against the Buffaloes. Wilson ranks ninth in the conference with a .388 (33-85) clip from beyond the arc. She is 13th with 1.6 3's per game.
Plouffe's Prowess: Senior forward Michelle Plouffe (Edmonton, Alberta) posted her 10th double-double of the season Feb. 8 at Oregon as she tied her season-high with 15 rebounds, her 11th game with 10 or more rebounds in 2013-14. Her 13 points off a 5-for-11 shooting outing was her 18th game with 10 or more points in 20 outings this season. She also swatted a season-high three shots and handed out three assists against the Ducks.
