SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah women's basketball team plays its final homestand of the 2012-13 season this weekend, beginning with Washington on Friday, Feb. 22, at 7:00 p.m. MT, followed by Washington State on Sunday, Feb. 24, at 3:00 p.m. MT.

"This is going to be a really important weekend for us," Utah head coach Anthony Levrets said. "We have two really good basketball teams again coming in here, and they play completely different styles. We're going to have to get ready for Washington on Friday and take care of that, then worry about the next thing. There is a lot of basketball left, and we just have to keep improving. We'll try to put 40 minutes together on Friday and then do it again on Sunday.

"We need to play every single game and every single possession with a sense of urgency. I felt like we didn't do that for 80 minutes [last weekend]. In this league you can't take a possession off, you can't take a game off, you can't take any time off. Every team can beat anyone on any given night. We feel like we can beat anybody on any given night, but we have to play our best basketball and give our best effort every time out."

Sunday's game celebrates senior day, with a presentation to honor seniors Iwalani Rodrigues, Rachel Messer, Chelsea Bridgewater and Rita Sitivi. There will also be a special presentation to honor athletic trainer Deb Willardson, who is retiring after 36 years with the University.

"It should be a special weekend for our seniors," Levrets said. "Hopefully our fans will come out and support them and watch them play in their last weekend at home.

Washington is currently third in the Pac-12 with a 10-3 conference record, 18-6 overall. The Huskies have won eight of their last nine games.

Utah is 5-6 all-time against Washington. Last year the Utes won the regular-season game in Seattle, while the Huskies defeated Utah in the WNIT.

Washington State is 10-15 overall and 6-8 in the Pac-12. The Cougars have won five of their last seven games, but have dropped two of their last three.

Utah is 9-2 all-time against Washington State. The Cougars won the only meeting between the two schools last year, 60-43 in Pullman.
