SALT LAKE CITY -The Utah women's basketball team plays in its first Pac-12 Tournament this week, beginning on Wednesday, March 7. The Utes are the seventh seed taking on 10th-seeded Colorado in the first round at 5:00 p.m. PT.

Utah head coach Anthony Levrets has consistently focused on making sure the team is playing their best basketball at the end of the season. The Utes have gone 5-2 in their last seven games.

"I am really proud of how we finished the regular season," Levrets said. "We have accomplished a lot through a lot of adversity. We are going to do everything we can to prepare for Colorado, and hopefully go out and have our best performance. No matter what happens, I feel like we've peaked at the right time.

"Our kids feed off the excitement of the postseason. This program has a proud tradition and we want to make our own memories."

Utah split its regular-season series with Colorado. In the Utes inaugural Pac-12 game on Dec. 31, Colorado outscored Utah 20-4 to close out the game in a 58-52 Buffs win. Utah took game two in overtime in Boulder on Feb. 18, 61-56. Iwalani Rodrigues hit a key three-pointer to give Utah the lead with 30 seconds remaining while Michelle Plouffe had a key block and made three free throws in the final seconds of the extra stanza.

Over the past 12 years in the Mountain West Conference, Utah went 22-8 all-time in the tournament. The Utes won tournament titles in 2000, 2006, 2009 and 2011. Utah played in the championship game seven times (2000, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2009, 2010 and 2011).

Utah also won tournament titles in the Western Athletic Conference (1991, 1995) and High Country Athletic Conference (1989, 1990).
