The Utah women's basketball team is currently on a 10-day trip through Sweden, Norway and Denmark. Follow the Utes travels as they travel through Scandinavia through player diaries and photos, which will be posted each day of their trip. Today's diary entries are from Rita Sitivi and Ciera Dunbar.
This trip has been a blast. I am having the time of my life with the team, and have enjoyed the wonderfulness of experiencing a world unknown to me. Of all 3 places we've been, Oslo, Norway has been my favorite. The sights, the atmosphere and the beauty of its landscape got me to fall in love with it so quickly. Sweden and Copenhagen are definitely beautiful as well, and I've been having a great time. It's been 8 days now, and I still haven't been able to get on a solid sleeping schedule. I've pretty much been up all night, and sleep during the day because of the time change. Other than this, I've been out and about with my teammates exploring everything within our surroundings. My favorite parts of the trip are downtime with the team. I'm a senior, and getting this time with everyone is precious. We've taken tons of pictures, have dined out at some pretty delicious places, and got to experience something that many people don't the chance to. We're having a great time.
One of my favorite moments during the whole trip are our team photos. They're pretty great. In each place, we've taken a picture next to water where everyone has to jump. The best part is having to jump many times because there's always that one person who was late, or the person taking the picture was too early. It's one of my favorite moments because everyone's laughing and trying to get on the same page; since we are a team, we had to communicate to get the picture just right, so it's something that can relate to our sport because we needed to work together. It's pretty awesome. Other than that, I've been having a great time out here with the team. It's a great experience and I've gotten to spend it with some pretty amazing people! With that, I hope you're all having a great week and Go Utes!
This morning we docked in Copenhagen from our overnight stay on the ship from Oslo. That was my first time on a boat like that, and you could definitely feel the ship rocking and you even would lose your balance walking across the deck. Fortunately, I didn't get sick and as soon as we got off of the ship we toured Copenhagen and saw the Opera House, the Royal Palace, the original Little Mermaid statue and much more. We were all exhausted after our evening on the boat so we rested up a bit and hit the town like tourists and enjoyed a nice dinner and dessert. We're ready to enjoy our final days here in Copenhagen and then head back to the states.
