With the start to the women's basketball season just around the corner, UtahUtes.com will be spotlighting the new members of the women's basketball team in `Getting to Know.' Today's spotlight is freshman Danielle Rodriguez.
What is your favorite basketball memory?
Beating Lynwood High School in OT to get our first league title since 1978.
What is your favorite sport besides basketball?
Track and field.
What do you like to do when you are not playing basketball?
Hang out with friends, swim, watch movies, go to the beach.
Do you have a nickname?
Dee and Dani.
Why did you choose Utah? What is the best thing about Utah?
Just a different state, something new, it's a beautiful city and an amazing school and campus.
Who has been the biggest influence in your life and why?
My best friend Arianna because she's been my biggest cheerleader and supporter.
My favorite thing about Salt Lake City is:
That it doesn't get dark until 9 p.m.
The teammate I most admire is who, and why?
`T' (Taryn Wicijowski) because she's always working hard and has the heart of a lion!
What do you like best about Coach Levrets?
He is a very friendly and outgoing guy with a good sense of humor, and he seems like a great coach so far.
What are your goals for this year?
To play as much as I can to have an impact on the team.
What are your pregame superstitions?
I have to listen to music before every game and give myself the same pep talk.
What is your major and what do you want to do after you graduate?
My major is business/marketing and I would like to coach or work for a sportswear company.
