With the start to the women's basketball season just around the corner, UtahUtes.com will be spotlighting the new members of the women's basketball team in `Getting to Know.' Today's spotlight is freshman Awa Kalmstrom.
What is your favorite basketball memory?
When we won the National. The game was so close but we pulled out a W.
What is your favorite sport besides basketball?
Handball and ping pong.
What do you like to do when you are not playing basketball?
Just hang out with friends and family.
Do you have a nickname? How did you get your nickname?
Sunffis and Avin. My mom has called me snuffis ever since I was a baby, and I got my nickname Avin from my friends.
Why did you choose Utah? What is the best thing about Utah?
I like the coaching staff and of course my teammates. And it's beautiful here and close to my friends that stay in L.A.
Who has been the biggest influence in your life and why?
My mom no doubt. She has been there for me since day one. She always supports me and taught me to be strong.

What do you like best about Coach Levrets?
He is really nice and open and I feel like I can talk to him pretty much about everything.
What are your goals for this year?
To improve as a basketball player and leader and also to improve as a person.
What are your pregame superstitions?
Just relax and listen to music.
What is your major and what do you want to do after you graduate?
Business and I don't know right now. Probably play professionally.
