SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah women's basketball team hosts Concordia (Ore.) on Thursday, Nov. 1, at 7:00 p.m. in its first exhibition game of the season.
"We're excited to get the opportunity to play a game," Utah head coach Anthony Levrets said. "We're looking forward to seeing the progress that we've made from the time that we began the season until now on the core things that we work on on a daily basis that we believe will make us a good team by the time the year is over."
The Utes went 16-16 overall in their first season in the Pac-12, going 8-10 in conference play to finish tied for seventh in the final standings. Utah reached the second round of the WNIT.
Utah returns four of five starters from last year's team, most notably junior honorable mention Associated Press All-American Michelle Plouffe and junior first-team all-conference selection Taryn Wicijowski. Also returning are senior Iwalani Rodrigues, who holds the Utah record for three-pointers in a season, and senior Rachel Messer, who has started 66 games during her Utah career.
Concordia, which is in the NAIA, was picked to finish eighth in the Cascade Collegiate Conference preseason poll. The Cavs went 7-21 last season and 4-14 in the CCC.
Utah opens its regular-season schedule at Denver on Nov. 10.
