Georgia Dabritz named Pac-12 Specialist of the Week
Jan. 14, 2014
WALNUT CREEK, Calif.--
Utah junior gymnast Georgia Dabritz has been named the Pac-12 Specialist of the Week for her role in Utah's quad meet victory over Boise State, Brigham Young and Southern Utah last Saturday.
Competing on three events, Dabritz tied for first on both vault (9.90) and bars (9.95), and placed second on floor (9.875). Her 9.95 on bars--which is tied for the best score in the nation with teammate Tory Wilson--allowed Utah to stay ahead of Boise State after falls by the two Utes immediately preceding her routine.
In addition to her No. 1 ranking on bars this week, Dabritz is ranked eighth on vault and 22nd on floor.
It is the fourth career weekly Pac-12 award for Dabritz, who has been named Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week twice and Specialist of the Week twice.
Utah competes at Cal this Friday at 7 p.m. PT (8 p.m. MT). Live scores and commentary will be provided on UtahUtes.com.
