THIS WEEK IN UTAH GYMNASTICS
The No. 4-ranked Utah gymnastics team (4-0, 1-0 Pac-12) hosts No. 8 UCLA (1-1, 1-0 Pac-12) on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 7:30 p.m. MT. It's the annual Blackout meet, when fans are encouraged to wear black attire, and also Residence Hall Association Night. The Utah-UCLA meet will be televised live on the Pac-12 Networks with Jim Watson (play-by-play) and Amanda Borden (analyst) calling the action. Live scores can be found at UtahUtes.com.
PAC-12'S BEST TO SQUARE OFF
Utah and UCLA are two of the most successful gymnastics programs in the nation. Utah has qualified for a record 38-straight national championships with 10 national titles (nine NCAA), while UCLA has made the championships 31 times and has six NCAA titles. Both teams have qualified into the Super Six 18 times in its 21-year history ... In the Pac-12 preseason coaches' poll, UCLA and Utah were picked to finish one-two by a 46-45 count in total points ... Utah leads the Bruins 22-2 in Salt Lake City. UCLA's last win in the Huntsman Center came at the 2012 Pac-12 Championships, when the Bruins edged the Utes by five-hundredths of a point for the inaugural title (197.425-197.375). UCLA's other win fell in 2003 ... Utah has lost eight straight to the Bruins, dating back to a Jan. 7, 2011 win in Salt Lake City. See Series Shorts for more.
Utah coach Greg Marsden
, in his 39th season, needs two victories to become the sport's first 1,000-win coach. He owns a 998-199-7 career record ... Official Utah Blackout gear is available for purchase at http://shop.utahutes.com ... The Utes have set a school record for season tickets, topping 7,000 for the first time. They drew 14,910 fans to their season opener on Jan. 11.

Utah is ranked fourth in the nation for the second-straight week and is No. 1 on vault with a 49.463 season average. The Utes are ranked second on floor (49.375) behind UCLA (49.413). Georgia Dabritz
