Utah To Host NCAA Gymnastics Regional On Saturday

SALT LAKE CITY -
The University of Utah gymnastics team hopes to be one of two teams to advance out of the NCAA North Central Region Gymnastics Championships, which it will host on Saturday. The meet starts at 6:00 p.m. in the Huntsman Center.

Tickets are still available by calling 801-581-UTIX or online at www.UtahUtes.com. Ticket prices range from $3-$13.

The top two teams will move onto the NCAA Gymnastics Championships in Lincoln, Neb., Apr. 24-26.

Utah goes into the regional meet as the second seeded team in the region. The Utes finished the regular season ranked eighth in the country. The top seed in the region is Stanford, which was ranked No. 6 in the final poll.

All six teams in the region are ranked in the top 25, making it the only region of the six around the country containing all ranked teams. Joining Utah and Stanford are No. 18 California, No. 20 Brigham Young, No. 21 Denver and No. 23 Minnesota.

Individuals are also competing from Utah State, Southern Utah and Air Force.
