Georgia Dabritz, Nansy Damianova and Becky Tutka will compete for NCAA individual event titles today starting at 1 p.m. Mountain Time. They qualified into the finals during Friday's team semifinals by placing in the top four in their session.
Dabritz will compete on vault, while Damianova and Tutka both made the floor finals. In a blind draw conducted by the NCAA, Dabritz drew the No. 4 position in a field of 12 vaulters. Utah's floor duo will compete back to back in the second flight of the 13-person floor field. Tutka is the ninth competitor and Damianova will go 10th.
Dabritz, a junior, has qualified for event finals all three years of her career. She placed 10th on vault as a freshman and was the NCAA uneven bar runner-up last year. Damianova, a senior, is competing in event finals for the second straight year. Last year, she placed eighth on floor and ninth on bars. Tutka is making her first appearance in the NCAA event finals as a junior.
Dabritz, Damianova and Tutka all earned first-team All-America honors on their respective events and Dabritz also made the All-America second team on the uneven bars. Senior Lia Del Priore was named a second-team All-American on floor.
Dabritz is now a 10-time All-American after adding five All-America honors this season, including three regular-season awards. Damianova finishes her career as a five-time All-American (includes two 2014 regular season awards) and Tutka has increased her All-America portfolio to four, with one of her two this season coming in the regular season.
