SALT LAKE CITY -- University of Utah athletic teams earned a combined 3.129 grade-point-average for the 2014 spring term, marking a school-record 16th-consecutive semester the Utes have achieved a total GPA above a 3.0.

Over 60-percent of Utah's student-athletes (262 of 406) were on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll with a minimum GPA of 3.0, and almost a third of them--128 total--qualified for the Dean's List, which requires at least a 3.5 GPA.

Women's skiing and gymnastics had every student-athlete earn Athletic Director's Honor Roll status. Women's skiing also boasted the highest GPA in the department for the semester at 3.737. The gymnastics team was second with a cumulative GPA of 3.690, snapping a streak of four-straight semesters at No. 1.

The women's ski team placed 75-percent of its members on the Dean's List--the highest percentage in the department--while the track team had the most Dean's List honorees with 23. The football team had 39 members on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll and men's basketball had more than 50-percent of its team make the honor roll. Women's basketball saw the greatest single-year gain, raising its GPA by nearly seven-percent since the spring of 2013.

Four Ute squads set new team-record GPA marks, led by women's skiing. Utah's men's swimming and diving (3.311), softball (3.285), and baseball (3.270) programs each set new team-record GPAs as well.
