The Utah gymnastics team finished fourth in the nation in team GPA in 2011-12 with a cumulative average 3.6644 and 14 Utes were named Scholar All-Americans by the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches (NACGC), the NCAA office has announced.
Utah's team GPA and its total number of Scholar All-Americans led the Pac-12 and also topped all teams that qualified for the 2012 NCAA Championships.
Lia Del Priore led the way with a perfect 4.0 GPA in math teaching, while Hailee Hansen recorded a 3.87 in mass communication and freshman Tory Wilson finished her freshman year with a 3.89 GPA. Stephanie McAllister, a five-time career All-American and the 2012 Pac-12 Gymnastics Scholar-Athlete of the Year, produced a 3.87 GPA in mass comm.
Other Utes named 2012 NACGC Scholar All-Americans were: Kailah Delaney (3.88), Mary Beth Lofgren (3.87), Becky Tutka (3.84), Fumina Kobayashi (3.78), Alyssa Gale (3.76), Cortni Beers (3.70), Victoria Shanley (3.66), Georgia Dabritz (3.65), Kassandra Lopez (3.63) and Corrie Lothrop (3.62).
