Jennifer White Accepts Position with Utah Gymnastics

Jennifer White, a member of the Utah athletics marketing staff since 2008, has accepted a position as the Utah gymnastics chief of staff/new media director. White has been Utah’s director of marketing for the past four years, with oversight of the football, men’s basketball and gymnastics teams.

Breanna Hughes, Kailah Delaney Make Academic All-District First Team

Utah gymnasts Breanna Hughes and Kailah Delaney have been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 At-Large first team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. They are now placed on the ballot for the CoSIDA Academic All-America team, which will be announced on June 9.

Ute Gymnastics Recruits Win Junior Olympic Championships

Two future Ute gymnasts struck gold at the 2016 Junior Olympic National Championships May 7-8 in Fort Worth, Texas. Incoming freshmen Kim Tessen of Orem, Utah, and Missy Reinstadtler of Brick, N.J., tied for first place on the uneven bars in the Senior E division. In addition, Tessen placed second in the all-around and Reinstadtler placed third on beam and seventh in the all-around.

Crimson Club Announces 2016 Hall of Fame Class

The University of Utah will enshrine five former Ute athletes, one former coach and one team into the Crimson Club Athletics Fund Hall of Fame on Friday, Oct. 7 at Rice-Eccles Stadium & Tower. The group will also be honored at the Homecoming football game the following day. The 2016 Hall of Fame class includes Shannon Bowles (gymnastics), Jim Giottonini (men's swimming), Kathy Kreiner (women's skiing), Pace Mannion (men's basketball), Pat Miller (ski coach), Kim Smith (women's basketball) and the 1994 Football team.

Utah Athletic Teams Among Pac-12's Best in NCAA APR

The NCAA announced its latest single and multi-year Academic Progress Report (APR) for NCAA Division I schools today and the University of Utah was again near the top of the Pac-12 for APR success. The APR accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation of all student-athletes on scholarship, and provides a measure of each team's academic performance.
