Checking in with Utah Gymnastics


Utah gymnastics recruit MyKayla Skinner has been named to the U.S. Senior National Team after tying for seventh in the all-around at the 2015 P&G Championship on August 15 in Indianapolis. While Skinner has been chasing her Olympic dream, plenty has been going with her future teammates, who begin reporting to the University of Utah this Friday for the start of classes on Monday, Aug. 24.

Ute Gymnastics Team Places Second Nationally in GPA


The Utah gymnastics team, which came within a fraction of winning the 2015 NCAA Gymnastics Championship back in April, has finished a close second in the classroom as well. The 2015 Utes, who placed second at the NCAA Championships in a meet decided by five-hundredths of a point, recorded a 3.7838 team grade-point average to finish second behind Texas Woman’s 3.7947 GPA in the national gymnastics academic competition.

Ute Gymnastics Signee MyKayla Skinner Fares Well at U.S. Classic


MyKayla Skinner, who signed with the Ute gymnastics team last November, finished second on vault and seventh in the all-around at the prestigious Secret U.S. Classic last weekend. Skinner, a member of the U.S. Senior National Team, has deferred enrolling in school for a year to pursue a berth on the U.S. Olympic team.

Dakota Marsden Appointed Gymnastics Director of Player Development


Dakota Marsden has been named the Utah gymnastics director of player development, co-head coach Tom Farden announced today. Marsden, the son of co-head coach Megan Marsden and former coach Greg Marsden, has spent the last four years as the team manager.
