Utah Head Coach Rich Manning
On the offensive outburst
"Obviously we created alot of opportunities and we got four of them to go in, so I was really proud. Even on the ones that didn't go in, we forced their goalkeeper to make saves, which is part of being a good offensive team. You have to put pressure on the goalkeeper. [Charly Booth] was fantastic and we still scored a lot, so that was great."
On halftime adjustments
"There's always some tension that builds up when you haven't scored yet and it's the second game of the season. But the team still had a lot of confidence. What I was really proud of was that we made a big tactical adjustment at halftime. We hadn't really practiced it, I just kind of drew it up on the board and they did it effortlessly and with confidence. We came out with a flurry, we peppered the goal, especially in the first part of the second half. So I was proud, we made the right adjustment and the fact that they could make it on the fly says a lot about this team's character."
On scoring four goals in a 17-minute span
"I don't think SUU let down at all. I was really impressed with them. [Head coach Becky Hogan] has done a great job with them in a short time. But I think for us there was a big surge of confidence after Avery's goal along with better execution."
On Saturday's rivalry game against BYU
"To win and see the ball go in the net makes everyone feel good, but Saturday is going to be a huge challenge. I think our players come here to play in these types of games. I know they will be really excited."
Freshman forward Baylee Nielsen
On scoring her first collegiate goals
"It felt amazing, I felt like I was working hard the whole game. I had that energy and fire to go score and it happened, I was so excited. From last game I felt like I wasn't that aggressive, so my mindset was to come out as hard as I could and keep making those runs so eventually I could see the back of the net."
