SALT LAKE CITY - Seniors Missy Dennis and Amber Brower scored goals late in the second half to give Utah a 2-1 comeback win over Montana on Sunday afternoon at Ute Field. The Utes, ranked No. 24 in the Soccer America poll, improved to 6-1-0 with the victory.
Montana (2-5-1) got on the board 1:39 out of halftime when Casey Joyner set up Lindsay Winans for a header from three yards out on the right side.
The Grizzlies kept the pressure on Utah keeper Ashley Mason, who played the entire second half in relief of starter Kaycie Zimmerman. The Utes, who outshot the Grizzlies 17-7, finally got one past goalkeeper Sarah Braseth 64:13 in as Dennis took a pass from Carisse Winegar and placed a shot from five yards out into the middle of the net.
Utah plays at Idaho State on Thursday before hosting No. 5 Florida next Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Ute Field.
