TUCSON, Ariz. - The University of Utah women's soccer team (8-8-2, 3-7-0 Pac-12) was beaten on the road Sunday as Arizona (6-10-3, 2-6-2 Pac-12) scored the game-winning goal with two seconds remaining in the game.

Arizona's Shannon Heinzler netted the game winner as the clock read 109:58. Arizona held the ball out near the touchline with just a few seconds left and crossed it to the top of the box finding Heinzler with several Utes thinking the game was about to end. Heinzler took advantage of the opening and fired it into the net just before time expired.

The Utah offense peppered the Arizona goal throughout the game, out-shooting the Wildcast 19-12 overall and putting 12 shots on goal to Arizona's four. However the Utes could not find a way past Wildcat goalkeeper Gabby Kaufman, who made 11 saves and was helped by a team save, as she went on to earn the shutout. The Utes also held the advantage in corner kicks, 9-4. Redshirt freshman Lindsey Luke made three saves in the Utah goal.

"I thought we played with really great effort and intensity today I'm proud of the team for that," said head coach Rich Manning. "But we learned a couple of important lessons today. We have to put our chances away and we have to play until the last whistle. This is a very painful way to learn those lessons but sometimes pain can bring progress. Now we have to pick ourselves up, get back to Salt Lake City and get back to work in practice."

The Utes close out the regular season Friday at Colorado at 3 p.m. as they look to snap a four-game losing streak. The game will be televised live on the Pac-12 Network.
