Head Coach Rich Manning
On getting the win: "We'll take a win any time, any year (in the conference tournament). I was very happy with our ball possession, especially the first 60 minutes. I thought we got a little tired at the end of the game and we weren't as sharp. The shot discrepancy in the first half was a direct because of our ball possession. We've lacked some continuity this season because of all of our lineup changes."
On Carisse Winegar's goal: "I was very happy for Carisse. She is an inspirational leader for this team. She doesn't get to play a lot, but she made the most of the opportunity."
On playing UNLV, which had a bye in the quarterfinals: "It's definitely an advantage (to have a bye) when you only have 24 hours to recover. It's an exhausting game that we play. But, this team's ready for it. We are ready to play UNLV again. We got some players to come in off the bench and give us a lift today, and that will help us tomorrow."
Junior Forward Carisse Winegar
"Whitney (Dorsey) did an awesome corner. I caught it, collected it, and put it in. It's always good to score, but I had help from my teammates. It's really important for us to get wins to help us get into the NCAA's."
Sophomore Goalkeeper Ashley Mason
"The game was a little slow. I just talked to myself back there to stay sharp for that one play that might make a difference in the game. To only have to face four shots in a 90-minute game, I have to give credit to my teammates for that. We definitely are ready for the rematch (against UNLV). We have a bad taste in our mouth from the fourth place finish. This tournament for us is about making a statement. I still think we have the best players and the best team in the conference. Now we have to prove it."
