SALT LAKE CITY - Utah soccer wrapped up its best season since joining the Pac-12 by defeating Colorado this afternoon on Senior Day, 2-1 in double overtime. Jill Robison's goal was the difference as the Utes finished the regular season third in the conference with a record of 10-4-6, 6-3-2.

"I think our kids stayed in the moment and I'm so proud of them," head coach Rich Manning said. "They kept working and working and as a team, they never get down on themselves. Even after the Colorado goal, they picked each other up and found the equalizer."

Colorado grabbed a lead with less than 20 minutes to go in regulation thanks to a Utah own goal, but the Utes remained resilient. They would eventually pull even off a corner kick in the 87th minute. Sophomore Megan Trabert got her head to an Ashton Hall corner for her third goal of the season, all off set pieces.

Utah carried that momentum into overtime as Robison scored her first goal of the season to win the game in the 103rd minute. The junior became the 12th different Ute to tally this year as the ball took a wicked deflection and left the CU goalkeeper rooted to the spot.

"We've played so many close games that they've come to define us this season," Manning added. "When you're constantly playing matches that go down to the end, you learn to deal with any and all types of pressure."

Avery Ford had a chance go wide early and then Hall missed high before being denied by CU goalkeeper Annie Brunner in the 16th minute. At the other end, Lindsey Luke was forced into a save on Anne Stuller. In the 25th minute, Katie Rigby had a good look at goal off a corner, but hooked her attempt wide.

In the second period, Katie Taylor created the initial chance for the Utes and the offense would eventually get another effort from Kaycee Buckley, who put a try on frame in the 70th. After Colorado took the lead with under 20 minutes to play, Utah cranked up the pressure with Robison and Ford getting shots off before the tying goal.

In the first overtime, Ford had Utah's best chance and Luke made a save on Stuller. During the second stanza, Rigby was denied by Brunner while Luke made her third save on Stuller to set the stage for Robison's winner.

"I think this season has been a breakthrough for the program," Manning stated. "To get to this point, it's been three to four years in the making. Our seniors should enjoy this moment and all they've done for Utah Soccer."

Utah will now wait to see if it has clinched a NCAA Tournament berth with the selection show on Monday at 2:30 MT.
