Salt Lake City--The Weber State Wildcats won their first ever series game against Utah tonight. The Utes went in to the game holding two wins in their corner but failed to produce a third as they lost 2-0. The Wildcats scored early at the 13:06 mark and again with 48:03. Although the Utes attempted some amazing shots, goalkeeper Quincy Blood found her way to the ball. The Utes suffered key losses in Amanda Schmutz and Jessica Narajowski, the team's controlling factors at sweeper and center mid. Both women played limited time today due to knee injuries. This marks the Utes ninth loss leveling their season record 9- 9-0. "I tried to remind the team that Weber State really wanted to win this game, and we just assumed we'd win. WSU fought hard for the ball and played a great game. This is a good lesson to learn. We need to face every game like any other regardless of past history." Head Coach Amy Freeman Winslow.
