SALT LAKE CITY - Utah soccer has announced the addition of two new players for the 2014 season, Addie Jensen and Tamaryn Braun.

Jensen is a forward that has transferred from Columbia University. She saw action in 10 games during the 2012 season for the Lions. Prior to that, she led Ramsey High School to the 2011 New Jersey State Campionship.

"I've loved Utah my entire life," Jensen said. "I'd come out every year and go to the Ute soccer camps and I have a lot of great memories. The fact that the 'U' made such a good impression on me from a young age definitely contributed to my decision. the U. When people ask 'why Utah?', I would have to say, 'why in the world wouldn't you choose Utah?'"

"We are always looking for 'triple-threat' players - good soccer skills, good teamwork and good off-the-field habits," head coach Rich Manning said. "Addie fits the bill perfectly. She is a goal-scoring threat with a powerful shot. She has a good nose for goal and can set up others. We have been impressed with her work ethic and the way she can inspire others. She has been coming to our summer camps for over 10 years now and it's great to have her wearing the Ute colors."

Braun is a goalkeeper from Brighton that player club for Sparta United. A two-time Utah 5A state champion at Brighton High School, Braun was also a six-time state cup champion

"I chose to come play for the 'U' because of the academics," Braun said. "When I toured the school with assistant coach Gabe Smart and saw all the great support the athletes are given it just felt like a natural, and right, fit for me."

"Tamaryn is an athletic goal keeper who covers the goal well and also has good hands," Manning said. "She has been an important part of a Sparta club team that has had great success over the years. We are excited for her to come and add to what is one of the best group of goalkeepers we have ever had on campus."
