SALT LAKE CITY - Center fielder Chalese Hadley recorded two hits to drive in two runs on Senior Day as the University of Utah softball team completed its series sweep of Grand Canyon with an 8-4 win on Saturday at Utah Softball Stadium.

Utah (31-24) had three players drive in two or more runs and two players recorded multiple hits during the contest. Eight different Utes registered hits.

Hadley was 2-for-2 for two runs with a run scored, while sophomore Kristen Stewart was 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBI and two runs scored. Freshman first baseman Bridget Castro also went 2-for-3.

Freshman right-hander Sammy Cordova turned in a 6.0-inning effort, allowing just one earned run on six hits with three strikeouts and a walk. She struck out the side in the second frame, while picking up the win to improve to 15-8 on the year. Junior Mariah Ramirez came on for 1.0 inning of relief and allowed four hits for two earned runs.

GCU struck first with a run in the top of the first, but Castro laced a standup triple, her third of the season, down the right-field line to start the second frame. Hadley then nudged an RBI single to shallow left field to push Castro across home plate for the equalizer. She has driven in 24 runs this season.

The Utes took the lead for the first time with a three-run fourth frame. Stewart singled past the GCU third baseman before Hadley looped a triple over the head of the Antelope right fielder for her third triple of 2014. Gomez reached on a GCU fielding error and stole her 12th base of the season before Pacheco ripped a two-run single to left field to give the Utes a 4-1 edge.

Utah tacked on three more runs in the fifth as Dickman cracked Utah's third triple of the contest to left center off the first pitch she saw. Urtez followed with a double down the left-field line for the first score of the frame and Castro singled up the middle to put Ute runners on the corners. Stewart drove a two-run base hit to left field to push Utah's lead to 7-2.

Flippen started the Utah half of the sixth frame by lining Utah's fourth triple of the game down the left-field line and would score after a sacrifice fly to left field by Dickman to plated Utah's eighth score of the contest.

GCU scored two more runs in the top of the seventh to set the final margin at 8-4.
