2013 Season Review: The Utes ended 2013 with a 24-30-1 overall record and ended with a 7-17 mark in Pac-12 Conference play.
12-Game Unbeaten Streak: Utah went 11-0-1 in 12 games from Feb. 16-Mar. 10 in 2013. Over this stretch, the Utes outscored their opponents 66 to 23 and held a .299 batting average at the plate, compared to a .245 clip for their opponents.
Turn Two: Last season, Utah's 42 double plays led the Pac-12, was second in the NCAA and the fifth-most in a single season in NCAA history. Utah's school single-season record is 43 in 1989, which ranks fourth in NCAA history.
Double Time: The Utes hit a school-record 82 doubles this season, which was second in the Pac-12. The previous school-best was 77 in 2010.
Six of those doubles came in the first game of Utah's 14-2 five-inning victory in the first game of a doubleheader at Southern Utah on Apr. 24, which ties the school record.
Four Captains: Center fielder Chalese Hadley (South Jordan, Utah), utility player Kate Dickman (Mission Viejo, Calif.), infielder Taylor Jordan (Bountiful, Utah) and outfielder Trina Gomez (Riverton, Utah) split the team voting for captains this season.
Normally reserved for two players, the team could not decide between the group and will have four team captains for the first time under seventh-year head coach Amy Hogue.
Welcome Back: The Utes will have six returning starters coming back to the lineup this season, which includes four student-athletes who received recognition from the Pac-12 after last season.
Pac-12 Networks: Nine Utah softball home games, 11 overall, will be televised live on the Pac-12 Networks, beginning Mar. 20 against BYU.
