The University of Utah softball team continues its season on Tuesday, Mar. 4 at 3 p.m. MT with a doubleheader against Utah Valley at Utah Softball Stadium.

Utah is 7-5 overall this season.

The Utes head east for five more games in the USF Tournament on Mar. 7-9. Utah opens the tournament with two games on Friday, Mar. 7, starting against Chattanooga (4:30 p.m. ET) and then Seton Hall (6:45 p.m. ET). Utah has another doubleheader on Saturday, Mar. 8, starting against Indiana State at 1:45 p.m. ET and Kansas at 4 p.m. ET. The Utes conclude the tournament on Sunday, Mar. 9, against South Florida at 3:30 p.m. ET.

Last Time Out: Utah split is home-opening doubleheader on Monday, Mar. 3 at Utah Softball Stadium, beginning with a 6-2 win over Ole Miss and an 8-5 loss to Utah State. Utah (7-5) outhit its opponents .316-.276 in the day's action to go with a .350-.317 advantage in on-base percentage.

Urging Urtez: Freshman Anissa Urtez (Long Beach, Calif.) homered and tripled for four RBI in the second game of the day on Monday, Mar. 3 against Utah State. Urtez had three hits in six at-bats with four runs driven in off her third home run of the season. Urtez tripled to right center and eventually scored to start the second inning for the Utes before cranking a three-run homer to right-center field in the third to tie the game up at four runs apiece.

Flippin' Over Hannah: Freshman second baseman Hannah Flippen had four hits in seven at-bats and drove in her 12th RBI of the year on Monday against Ole Miss and Utah State.

Nieto Deals: Freshman Kayce Nieto (Farmington Hills, Mich.) threw her second complete game of the season, allowing only two earned runs on six hits in 7.0 innings to go with four punch outs. With the win, she improved to 4-4 this season. Ute Production: Senior center field Chalese Hadley (South Jordan, Utah) went 2-for-3 with two runs scored during Monday's win over Ole Miss, while junior left fielder Kate Dickman (Mission Viejo, Calif.) and sophomore third baseman Kristen Stewart (Covina, Calif.) drove in two runs apiece.



Rained Out: All five games of Utah's schedule at the San Diego Classic last weekend were cancelled due to inclement weather.
