Fresh off two consecutive nine-inning victories, the University of Utah softball team starts its Pac-12 Conference home schedule against No. 3 Oregon this weekend at Utah Softball Stadium.
The series starts on Saturday, Mar. 22 at 2 p.m. MT. The middle game will be played Sunday, Mar. 23 at 2 p.m. MT and the finale will be Monday, Mar. 24 at 12 p.m. MT.
The Utes are 11-9 overall and are currently enjoying a two-game win streak.
No. 3 Oregon is 23-3 overall and was also at the Rainbow Wahine Classic in Honolulu last weekend. The Ducks went 5-1 with their lone loss coming to James Madison in a 3-0 decision on Mar. 15.

Deseret First Duel Recap: Utah picked up a 1-0 win over BYU in the Deseret First Duel on Thursday, Mar. 20. With one out in the bottom of the ninth, freshman second baseman Hannah Flippen (Bonita, Calif.) hit her third double of the season and junior left fielder Kate Dickman (Mission Viejo, Calif.) brought her home with a walk-off double to right-center field to give the Utes the victory over the Cougars.
Nieto Pitches In: Utah sophomore pitcher Kayce Nieto (Farmington Hills, Mich.) threw nine shutout innings on Mar. 20 against BYU and only gave four hits to the Cougars to improve to 6-7 in win-loss decisions this season. She has thrown four complete games in 2014 with a pair of complete-game shutouts. Nieto is eighth in the Pac-12 with a team-high mark of 72.1 innings pitched this season. She is 5-7 in pitching decisions, while opposing batters are hitting .274 against her.
Kate Can Rake: Dickman led the Pac-12 in the latest statistical rankings and currently holds a .479 batting average through 20 games. The 2013 Pac-12 All-Conference Second Team selection also leads the team with 18 runs scored, 10 extra-base hits and is second on the squad with 16 runs driven in. Dickman ranks seventh in the Pac-12 with a .712 slugging percentage, tied for seventh with 35 hits, eighth with a .494 on-base percentage.
Flippen is Winnin': Flippen posted a game-high two hits in four at-bats for her ninth multi-hit game of the season on Mar. 20 against BYU. She laid down a bunt single in the third frame before hitting a double to right field in the ninth to set up Dickman's walk-off hit.
